The Preppy Girl's Style Guide

Hello everyone,

I hope we're all surviving this cold February. Hopefully March will be a bit warmer. This week I wanted to share my latest fashion obsessions under the prepster category.

Simply Southern

When I went to Virginia last summer, I discovered the Simply Southern collection. Love, love, love it! I wanted to purchase a shirt that said “Preppy and Classy” but they didn’t have my size. When I go to Florida this spring and/or summer I am most definitely going to pick one up. Every preppy girl has one!

Longchamp Tote

I’ve seen this purse on every social media website. It is officially at the top of my hit list. Because prepsters tend to care little bit more about brand names, this does just the trick. The purse isn’t screaming a brand, which makes it classy. I really like it! Plus, it’s big enough to hold everything I need- from lip gloss to planners to shades!

Lilly Pulitzer Planner

Lilly Pulitzer is known for their high-end preppy fashion. Lilly is definitely one of my favorite designers by far. She actually makes wearing lobsters cute! This planner belongs in your monogrammed tote. It will help you stay organized and at the top of your preppy game.

Rose Gold Watch- Or Something Like That

For my 17th birthday, my Godfather bought me a Michael Kors watch in rose gold. Absolutely stunning! It simply completes my look!

Tennis Shoes

I admit- I am in love with Keds! They’re comfortable- and Taylor Swift has her own line. (I currently own four pairs of Keds.) Iplan on purchasing a white pair in order to complete my preppy wardrobe.

I am obsessed with my initials on "stuff". It's super cute! I have a ton of purses and backpacks with my initial or monogram on it. I don’t know one prepster who doesn’t have a monogrammed purse!

Statement Jewelry

Over sized, layered pearls are your new best friend. Pair them with something collared for a classy, yet preppy look. It’s one of my favorite ways to accessorize! (If you want to see how to complete this look in a classic manner, checkout Pinterest! They have everything!)

Dark Skinny Jeans

I definitely love dark skinny jeans. Not only are they extremely flattering, but they're versatile! Pair with a collared shirt, layered under a sweater of course and flats! Throw on a statement necklace, then you’re good to go.

That concludes my style guide for the go-getter prepster. What styles have you been rocking lately? Comment below!

Weekend Pampering Routine

Hello everyone,

Who's ready to take a break from reality and dive into some you time? This past week has been crazy- homework, extracurriculars, etc. This weekend I decided to put off my chemistry homework and spend my Sunday relaxing.

Sleep In!

I'm always waking up early to get more accomplished. I slept in until around 10:00. Once I got myself together, I made myself a cup of Lipton tea.

Tub Time!

There is nothing more relaxing than a hot bubble bath- or better year, a bath with a Lush bomb. They're amazing! I usually come out with sparkles all over me. While in the bath, I enjoy listening to peaceful music without an electronic in front of my eyes.

During this time I wash my hair, shave my legs, wash my body, etc. It's self-explanatory.

Hydrating The Body

H2O+ is one of my favorite brands when it comes to lotions. They smell amazing and they're hydrating. I also love Bath & Body Works for stronger scented lotions.

Painting Nails

There is just something about having your nails done. When they're done, I feel a lot more confident. I typically lean towards pastels around this time of year.

Wear PJs

There is nothing wrong with chilling in your PJs on a Sunday afternoon. Everyone does it. I love wearing cute night gowns while watching romantic movies. For the past few months I've been loving The Longest Ride. It's so cute!

Me Time

Before I go to bed, I like to take the time to catch up with friends and write in my journal. I've been doing a decent job keeping up with my journal this year. Lately, I've been writing more poetry, which I am so proud of! It's one of my favorite things to do: string words together into something beautiful.

That concludes my weekend pampering routine. It's very simple, yet needed. Do you take time to yourself? If so, what is a crucial part of your routine?

Get Ready With Me: Valentine's Day 2016

Hello everyone,

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you shared your love with friends and family. I know I did! The first thing I did was make myself a warm cup of tea while listening to some romantic tunes.

I won't bore you with my shower and skincare routine. Once my skin was completely prepped I jumped into hair.

Straight Hair, Don't Care

Heat protector is crucial. I use Aussie Hair Insurance Heat Protecting Shine Spray - 8.5 oz. I use about 6-10 squirts of the product all throughout my hair. To ensure it is evenly distributed I use a wide tooth comb. I then use my hairdryer to dry it completely. I don't like to use it on the highest setting because that can be damaging. I use the medium setting from a decent distance. This takes approximately 15 minutes. That's it!

Making It Up

I always start off with applying moisturizer- especially this time of year. My skin easily cracks. With that being said I use Double-Duty Face Moisturizer SPF 20 with Blue Algae Extract & Sea Parsley. Please note, this may be a men's skincare brand, but there's no reason you can't use it. Especially for the effects. I love it!

I follow up with my typical face makeup routine: green concealer, foundation, concealer, and powder. For blush, I used one of my favorites: Benetint by Benefit Cosmetics. It is very flattering on my pale face. I then applied their highlighter to the highest points of my face. It leaves a desired glowy finish to the skin.

For eyes, I decided to enhance them a bit by using the Trust In Love Giftable Set by Stila Cosmetics. I played around with different colors, creating a look that was noticeable, yet neutral. I then finished it off with the mascara that comes with it.

For lips, I applied my favorite balm and wore a non-sticky mauve gloss. (Very, very typical of me.)

V-Day Fash

I had no idea what to wear, but I knew that you couldn't go wrong with pink hearts. I paired a black and pink sweater with dark jeggings. Because it was just a casual day for me, I slipped on black UGGS and called it a day. For jewelry, I wore small black/silver earrings with silver bangles. Super simple!

This concludes my "Get Ready With Me: Valentine's Day" post. I had a wonderful Valentine's Day, spending it with beautiful people. What did you do on Valentine's Day?

Fashion Blog Post Ideas (That Never Go Out of Style!)

Hello everyone,

Shoutout to my fashion bloggers! Being a beauty, fashion, and lifestyle blogger, sometimes I find it hard to come up with content ideas- especially in the fashion department. I put together a list of fashion blog post ideas.

Hopefully you find some inspiration for your next fashion related post:

Have you been out shopping recently? Show us what you bought! These are by far my favorite posts/videos to read/watch. (Yes, I'm nosey, but so are you!)

Style Guides

I am the opposite of an expert when it comes to rocking an edgy look. I would love to see some one's take on edgy fashion- be sure to add a link to that leather jacket you recently purchased!

Again, one of my favorite posts to read. I love when bloggers link up their favorite Urban Outfitters hoodies or Hunter boots. (Though these posts are fun to read, they definitely put a dent in my wallet!)

Style Icons

When I'm in desperate need of a fashion post, I instantly check out the latest trends and which celebs have been rocking them. In the past, I've covered Taylor Swift and Zendaya Coleman. Their styles are classy and chic. You can even recreate the look for a much, much cheaper price. That always brings in a decent amount of traffic!

General Shopping Tips

Include some budget tips for the college go-getter! Be sure to include some of your favorite coupon saving apps like Ibotta and Shopkick.

Fashion Apps

You can't go wrong with talking about your favorite apps. Everyone has a smartphone these days. If I was to do a post like this I would talk about Pick My Style and Stylebook. These apps keep me on top of my fashion game at all times.

Seasonal Trends

Not everyone has the time to go out and buy the latest issue of Vogue. Include some of the latest spring fashion trends and link up some pieces you've been eyeing. This will totes increase your traffic! (I apologize totes isn't even a thing anymore- is it?)

What I Wore

OOTDs and What I Wore posts are evergreen. People are always craving insights to other people's lives. Show what you wore to your grandmother's birthday you celebrated in New York. Don't forget to take some awesome pictures. They're always fun to look at!

They're really simple to make if you're in a crunch for time. Download Polyvore. You can make a wishlist in less than 30 minutes. Upload it and give some brief summaries as to why you want the product. I'm always on Polyvore making small wish lists for myself!

DIY Projects

I love, love, love making DIY shorts. A long time ago, I posted how to make your own ombre shorts. They turned out amazing! The feedback I received was incredible. You can even head to Pinterest if you're looking for inspiration.

As you can see there are so many different fashion related posts you can compose. You can even review some of your favorite brands or talk about current online sales. It's not as limited of a topic as I thought.

What are some of your favorite fashion posts to compose or read? Comment below!

Holy Grail Beauty Essentials

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to my blog! This week we're covering my holy grail beauty essentials. I couldn't avoid not share these products with you- you're going to fall in love too! I promise!

Skinclearing Blemish Concealer by Neutrogena

This is my favorite beauty product of all time. If I had to go out the door with only one product (and feel confident) this would be my makeup item of choice. Not only does it conceal my problem areas, but it helps them. The formula consists of MicroClear technology, which reduces the appearance of acne over a short period of time. Hands down, a holy grail in my book.

Amped Lashes Mascara by Ulta

This product is fairly new to me, but I still adore it. I am a glasses wearer, so my eyes tend to hide behind my frames when I don't wear any makeup. I use this mascara for everyday wear. It lengthens and separates my lashes in a matter of 30 seconds. I can't say enough good things about this product.

All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay

I'm sure you've heard about this product. You probably even have this product within arms reach on your vanity. It makes your makeup last all day and all night! I love applying this product to lock in my makeup. It leaves a natural and smooth finish to my skin. Flawless!

Livingston by Zoya

Never have I ever witnessed my nail polish last longer than a week until I came in contact with this product. This product lasts a minimal of seven days. I couldn't be more impressed with a nail polish formula. My goal is to get my hands on their satin collection.

Jumping Juniper Shampoo Bar by Lush Cosmetics

I'm a female- with a changing body which means my hair can get extremely greasy every now and then. I decided to experiment with a different shampoo. One of the employees at my local Lush recommended I try this product. I use this product when I shower in the evening, that way my hair stays grease free for my day to day activities.

LED Tweezers from Primark

For those of you who didn't know, I live in America. Most bloggers I follow are from Europe. All they ever talk about is Primark, Primark, Primark! When I found out a Primark was opening near me, I jumped for joy! I purchased a few sweaters and a few accessories. These tweezers retail for $3.00! Say goodbye to bushy brows with the built in flashlight.

I'm still on the hunt for a holy grail lip product. If you have any suggestions please comment them down below.
