Pamper With Me: First Day of School

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my main blog! Today, I was planning on sharing my thoughts on the Hershey Spa. Unfortunately, my sister was put in a full arm cast, we so had to cancel. Hopefully we'll be able to go in mid-November. I would love to share that experience with you guys!

For now, I am going to share how I pampered myself for my first day of school:

I like to start off my exfoliating my skin. I exfoliate my skin with a baking powder paste. In a small bowl mix a bowl of baking powder and warm water. That's it! Then, you just scrub away. I like to leave the paste on my face for 3-5 minutes. 

After rinsing the paste off completely, I follow up with a nose strip. My personal favorites are the Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. After letting that sit for 10-15 minutes I peel it off. As gross as this sounds, it's so cool to look at! I'm not even kidding. 

I then followed up with a cleanser and spot treatment.

In order to pamper my lippies I like to exfoliate them with a sugar scrub. My favorites are from LUSH, but you can make them yourself. Click here to read how!

From there, I seal in the moisture with my holy grail Jack Black lip balm. It's a miracle worker!

I recommend letting your feet soak in a bowl of warm water mixed with Epsom salt. Then, apply a healing serum to your heals. I purchased mine from Ulta Beauty. 

Then, paint away! I recommend going with a pink shade; you can't go wrong!

The Ultimate Senior Year Post

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Within the last couple of weeks I've talked about: my school essentials, everyday makeup look, and fashion staples

This week I'm going to share what classes I'm taking, followed by advice from my favorite bloggers, and lastly my goals for the upcoming school year. 


1- AP Statistics

I was torn between AP Calculous and AP Statistics- not really. I don't want anything to do with calculous. Pre-Calc was torture enough. Besides, statistics would be much more beneficial towards my major. 

2- Journalism

Though I have chosen a career path in psychology, I am still extremely passionate about journalism. I express that through my blog.

3- Study Hall

I have a study hall third period. I plan to use this to my advantage. During this time I'll be writing for my school newspaper, tutoring Spanish, and balancing my AP work.

4- Concurrent Enrollment Spanish IV 

I love Spanish! It's one of my favorite classes, if not my favorite. I love the idea of learning a new language. I take language very seriously.

5- Concurrent Enrollment Composition I and Tech Writing

I love taking dual enrollment courses. Dual enrollment courses allow you to receive community college credit and high school credit at the same time. Because of the amount of dual enrollment classes and summer classes I take, I am almost done my associate degree. Plus, I love writing, so why not work a little harder in an English class?

7- AP Economics

I'm really excited for this class, to be honest. I chose this because my school only offers AP Economics or Academic/Honors Government. Economics, to me, sounds like a great "just in case" class. You never know when you might need a business degree.

8 & 9- Anatomy and Physiology

I may be writing obsessed, but I'm certainly not that way about science. Instead of taking physics, I decided to take anatomy and physiology. My science teacher last year suggested this because it would help me once I got to greater depths of psychology. I figured, why not?


Without having a blog, I don't think I would have been able to meet such incredible people. The following bloggers have made such an impact in my life.

"As soon as you get your syllabus from each class, write down any important dates, even though they could change. It's easy to forget to look back at your syllabus if you leave something out so make sure you know everything is in your planner and you'll only have to look in one place for every class. Keeping an updated planner saves you a lot of time and effort throughout the semester!" -Madison

"Find time for you, school is hectic and stressful so finding time for you is important. This can range from watching that new episode of your favourite TV show on Netflix to going on for a little of retail therapy. Find hobbies and things that you enjoy. If you don't know what you're good at, try different hobbies, read a book, go for a cycle, sing along to your favorite songs, make a YouTube video (so what if you don'd actually upload it), join a club, try a new instrument, bake a cake, the list is endless. "Well I'm not really good at highschool but I would say to not compromise your identity or personality to fit in.  I did that for 2 years and it didn't help. In fact It made me seem kind of desperate. I did my own thing last year and I made a really cool friend who had the same values as me. We both put school first and we are focus on school instead of boys and we listen to each other and I mean really listen to each other. She is just genuine. So yeah being unique might not be appealing to society or your cliques in high school but they sure will land you lifelong friends. Be you, be as weird as you want and just try to take pride in yourself." -Ayele

"While school can be stressful, it is crucial to get involved. Many schools have groups you can join, such as community service or art clubs. There is likely to be an activity for everyone, but if there isn't, or if you have a great idea, start your own! Whether you join Student Council or write for your school's newspaper, finding a group of people who share your mindset is important. Getting involved will help you explore your passions, make new friends, and stand out to colleges. As you go back to school, make a conscious effort to branch out, whether that be through auditioning for a play or taking up a sport. Take charge of your life and make it matter. I love setting goals! They are extremely important. Each and everyday I construct a to do list. It is my personal goal to achieve all of the ideas on that to to list. This year, I really want to find the motivation to complete each and everything I want to. 

Be Confident

I definitely struggle with my insecurities. For example, I really struggle with acne. Nearly 85% of people between the ages of 12 to 24 develop acne, but that doesn't stop me from feeling insecure. This year, I'm going to be confident in my skin. 

Stay Organized

Last year, around March I could definitely feel myself getting lazy with my assignments. This year, I'm going to stay organized and pull through until graduation.

Apply To College

I am planning on applying to three local colleges and universities. I don't have my heart set on a college, but I definitely have my eye on one. 

Kill It

Personally, I feel like this goal needs no further explanation. I am simply going to kill it this year. Cheers to a rockin' school year!

Back To School Fashion Haul 2016

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Before I get into this post, I wanted to announce that I am now posting on not only Mondays, but Thursdays too. This will officially be active as of September. As of now, I am just testing it out.

Now, we can get onto the main part of this blog post: my back to school clothing haul! Over the course of the week I did some damage... but it's okay because I'm making a blog post out of it. Right? 

We started our shopping at Macy's. Macy's is one of my favorite department stores. All of the clothes are high-end, yet they're affordable. This is something a non working girl can appreciate. I definitely had to do some digging to find this steal, but I managed. I adore the lightweight material and the detailing below the bust line. It's so pretty!

From there, we went to Hollister, where most of my purchases came from. I found this maroon shirt with white stripes. There is also a pocket on the left-hand-side, which I adore. I think this is perfect for Mondays when you just want to roll out of bed. I would personally pair it with leggings and black UGGS. Maybe a chunky scarf too for warmth. 

On Wednesdays, skinny jeans and cute sweaters are the way to go. I found this one as soon as I walked through the doors. I would pair this with dark skinnies and my Lauren Conrad boots. Click here to view the sweater online.

My mom pointed these lace shorts out to me. I am absolutely in love with them. I'm planning on pairing these shorts with a pair of comfortable brown sandals and a maroon v-neck. Just something simple for the first week of school while it's still warm.

Next, I have this deep v-neck sweater. So chic! I'm planning on pairing this with dark skinnies and some boots. I would also wear a pair of cozy boot socks for a more appropriate school look.

American Eagle Outfitters used to be my hit list for jeans, but as of last year, I've had a change in heart. Hollister jeans are to die for! They are so comfortable!

Lastly from Hollister, I wound up purchasing this dress. I love the intricate detailing above the waist line. The empire waist is also something I desire. I find that it's extremely slimming. My sister is planning on wearing this on the first day of school.

We are now moving away from Hollister Co. and onto PINK. I only made one small purchase from PINK. I purchased a high/low half zip hoodie. I went with navy because (1) I'm obsessed and (2) I love the look with light wash jeans. It's perfect for those Friday night football games. 

I am very much a prepster at heart. These shorts, again, are perfect for the first week or so of school. I purchased them from Old Navy

I also went to Primark, one of my new favorite stores. I purchased this basic white tee along with a duo pack of infinity scarves. I found the infinity scarves in a clearance bin for only $2.00. What a steal! I'm planning on using them to transition into the fall season.

I also purchased two pairs of jeans. They are the softest pair of jeans I've ever owned. I am absolutely in love with them. Just like leggings! 

While in Aerie, I found this super soft hoodie. You can truly did whatever you want with it. Pair it with black leggings for lazy days... Or maybe pair it with a pair of jeans for a trip to Starbucks. 

And lastly, I wanted to include an accessory I purchased. Yesterday I went to Charming Charlie's. I found this silver cross necklace, something I've been on the hunt for. Click here to view it.

Back To School: Style Basics

AE Denim X Skinny Jean Rich Ink

Most of my jeans come from American Eagle Outfitters, if not from Hollister Co. Dark skinnies are perfect for everyday of the week. The versatility of them makes them an essential. For example, pair with a cable knit sweater, knee high boots and boot socks for a cozy, tumblr look. Or pair with a white tee and vans for a casual vibe. Utilize silver accessories for a touch of girlyness and glam.

Aerie Chill Hi-Rise Legging True Black

I have a love-hate relationship with leggings. Sometimes I love them. Other times I despise them. Let me put it this way: I love them if you style them correctly. I recommend pairing leggings with a longer tee that covers your butt. Wear something flowy to create balance within your outfit.

Women's Topshop V-Neck Tee

V-necks are a must. Again, because of their versatility.  I own several from New York & Company and Primark. I recommend having the basics: black, gray, and white. You can do so much with those colors; try layering necklaces, or wearing a military styled jacket. (I saw that on Pinterest. Super chic.)

Black Rivet Traditional Plaid Blanket Scarf

There's no denying that I love scarves. I love, love, love them! They are my favorite accessory- besides purses- of course. They serve the purpose of keeping me warm, while being stylish at the same time. Win, win! This one is definitely on my wishlist!

Nike Roshe One Fashion Shoe

In the beginning of summer, I purchased my first pair of Roshe sneakers. I really like them- mostly because of their weight. They're so easy to throw in your gym bag. 

Toms Black Classic Black On Black Flats

Any type of black slip on is a must. I have about four pairs of black slip ons. My favorite pairs are from Adidas and Keds. You can literally pair them with anything. I like to wear them with black leggings, a solid v-neck and cardigan. It's perfect for school: comfy and cute. Perfect for Saturday morning study sessions at your local coffee shop too!

Alex and Ani Path of Life Slider Charm Bangle Rafaelian Silver Finish

I love Alex and Ani jewelry. I have six bangles and one pull through bracelet. I love the Path of Life design- it's gorgeous. Anyway, as far as school accessories go, these can slide on with ease. When you're in a rush, you won't want to tie that leather bracelet together- trust me!

MICHAEL Michael Kors Jet Set 18K LG Ew Crossbody (Brown) 

Michael Kors is one of my favorite purse designers. I currently own three Michael Kors crossbody purses. I find that they are extremely convenient for school functions- carnivals, football games, etc. They're also perfect for Saturday morning study sessions at Starbucks. Why lug your entire purse around? Just take your backpack and the pure essentials.

AE Dolman Boyfriend Cardigan Oatmeal

Cardigans! Cardigans! Cardigans! They are literally your best friend in school. If I knew my locker combination, I would keep one in there. Unfortunately, I don't know my locker combination so I just lug it around all day. They're super easy to throw on on top of v-necks. It's an effortless kind of chic, you know? (I apologize: I don't speak fashion.)

PINK Penn State University Varsity Pullover Hoodie

I am definitely a hoodie type of girl. I love wearing them with jeans, leggings, etc. This one from Victoria's Secret is super cute. Though I don't have a desire to go to Penn State University, I still think it's really cute. Definitely going to add this to my birthday/Christmas wishlist!

J.Crew Factory Cable Scoopneck Sweater

When shopping for the back to school season, I can guarantee you you've picked up at least ten sweaters. Am I wrong? Cable knit sweaters are perfect for chilly mornings at the bus stop, or Friday night football games. You really can't lose with cable knits.

J.Crew Factory Pearl Cluster Headband

A few weeks ago when I was in J. Crew Factory I came across this headband. The ivory headband is currently on sale for $8.50. Let's just say I was kicking myself in the butt after I left. I can't believe I didn't buy it. This headband is the perfect accessory. You can wear your hair in a braid overnight and pop this headband on in the morning with ease. How cute would that be?

Everyday Makeup For School

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! This week we're covering back to school in the beauty department. This is my everyday makeup for school:

Prep Your Skin

Prep your skin with your regular skincare products. I wash my face with products geared towards acne prone skin. Following that, I apply B6 Vitamin-Infused Complexion Prep Spray by Urban Decay.
Though this product retails for $33, you can purchase the travel-size for $15 to test out your liking for it.

After letting that sink into my skin, I use a moisturizer. I use Daily Protection Broad spectrum SPF 30 Moisturizing Face Lotion by Eucerin. This product is such a steal; it retails for $5 on Amazon. Now that my skin is completely prepped, I can get into my actual face makeup.


This past summer, I've learned a few skin tricks. Who knew, letting your skin breathe from makeup for just two days would clear it up instantly! With that being said, I like to keep my face makeup to a minimum:

Remember, primer is your best friend. I am currently using up a sample I got from Clinique.

Following that, I go in with a green concealer on any imperfections. Then, I follow up with a skin tone colored concealer. My favorite one is by Neutrogena Cosmetics. The  SkinClearing Blemish Concealer is my favorite concealer of all time. Not only does it cover your blemish, but it treats it. I've talked about this product many, many times! I love, love, love it!

I've now just started using the Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Concealer Treatment by Maybelline. I believe I am in the shade "Light." I decided to go with a shade lighter so it could dual as a highlighter. This makes my makeup routine go so much faster.

Then I dust a matte powder all over my face with a big, fluffy brush from Sephora. I really want to try Stay Matte Pressed Powder by Rimmel London; I've heard/read great reviews.

Following that, I go in with a brightening blush and highlighter.


Eyeshadow primer is a must for the endless school days. My personal favorites are Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion by Urban Decay and Shadow Insurance Primer by Too Faced.

Today, I am using Too Face's eyeshadow primer to ensure my eyeshadow lasts all day.

I then begin my natural eye makeup, using the Trust In Love Set by Stila Cosmetics. I adore this palette. The colors are gorgeous.

I first apply Nude Shimmer all over my lid. In my crease I apply Stone. I use a blending brush from Sephora to ensure it is completely blended. I then, go in with Snowflake to highlight my brow bone.

When I have a little extra time, I like to line my upper lash line with Fog. Fog is a deeper brown, therefore it isn't as harsh; perfect for school! I like to smudge this along my lower lash line too. I only go in about half way.

I then apply two thick coats of Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced- I no longer curl my lashes. Click here to read why.


After applying a lip balm, I go in with a pink gloss. My favorite is the Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss by BareMinerals. I use the one I got for as a birthday gift from Ulta Beauty.

Back To School Essentials

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! I know it's only the first week of August, but school is right around the corner. I have less than four weeks! With that being said, I thought I would share some of my basic essentials with you guys. 

Vera Bradley Campus Tech Backpack (Classic Black) 

I used this exact backpack last school year. And I'm probably going to use it again this year since it's in great condition. This backpack has a ton of room for all of your books and essentials.

Lilly Pulitzer Travel Tumbler

Lilly Pulitzer is one of my favorite designers/stores. I highly recommend having some sort of travel cup. Last year, I used a LP travel mug for hot tea. Now, I'm into drinking fruit water. Read all about the health benefits of lemon water here.

Post-it Notes, Jaipur Collection, 3 inch x 3 inch, 5 Pads/Pack (654-5UC)

Post-it Notes are my best friends. They make so organization easy. I use sticky notes for pointing things out in my school textbooks. 

Lilly Pulitzer Tiki Palm iPhone 6/6S Wristlet

I actually don't own a Lilly Pulitzer wristlet, but I would like to. If you drive to school this is really nice to have. You can throw your IDs in here along with some cash and you're good to go!

Lilly Pulitzer Ocean Jewels Large 2016-2017 Agenda

I just bought this agenda while in Orlando, Florida. Lilly Pulitzer agendas are a must- mostly because I hate the agendas my school provides. Because they are too tiny, it's nearly impossible to stay organized. With this planner I can lay all of my information out neatly.

Bride Vintage Floral Otterbox iPhone 6/6s Case

I definitely recommend investing in an Otterbox Case if you have an iPhone. You always need your phone for school: apps assignments, email, music, etc. Don't risk cracking your phone. Protect it! Check out the exact one I own here.

Lilly Pulitzer Spot Ya Key Fob

I highly recommend- if you drive to school- a brightly colored key chain. I use one similar to this from Lilly because it's easy to find in my backpack.

Adidas Alliance Ii Sackpack

I recommend investing in a "nicer" gym bag. The one I was using in middle school began to rip because it was on the cheaper side. I currently use one from Target now. It works great, but I like this one from Adidas. Very sporty!

Colored Fineliners

Honestly, I've never even heard of this brand. I just recommend having an assortment of colorful pens. It makes note taking easy. I take my core notes in black ink, then vocabulary in purple. Anything the teacher stresses I write in red. I will definitely do a more in depth post on note taking if you'd guys like me to.

iPad Mini

I like having a tablet on hand at all times. I can use it when I have down time in my open campuses or after school if I hit up a coffee shop. It's very convenient!

Makeup Bag

I thought this makeup bag was really cute! My makeup bag is more of an emergency kit. I have everything in there: face powder, feminine products, hand wipes, lip gloss, lotion, oil absorbing sheets, etc. I am the type of girl to carry a mini sewing kit in my backpack. You never, ever know what could happen.

Social Studies



I also recommend carrying two extra folders with you: one for "class" information and another for homework. Class information can include your schedule, trip forms, etc. I also keep my club information in this folder. I am going to be taking up a leadership position next year; I plan on keeping all important handouts in this folder.

The other folder can include homework. I like having a folder solely dedicated to homework because it's visually appealing; I can see all of the tasks I need to complete in one area. Also, I don't have to worry about shoving my statistics homework in my economics folder when I'm in a rush. They will all be in the same place.
