My Favorite Blogging Tools

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! This post is for all of you bloggers out there! I've put together a short list of my favorite editing sites and social outlets. Comment below what some of your favorite blogging tools are. 


PicMonkey is definitely one of my favorite editing/designing apps. I actually used it to make my signature. I've found that the editing tool gives me a lot freedom.


This is another great designing tool. There are a bunch of themes that you can choose from for blog graphics. When I'm on a time crunch, I use this.


How can you not use Bloglovin' as a blogger? I gain a ton of inspiration from this following tool. Plus, it helps me bring in tons of traffic.


I use Pinterest all the time. I use it to help me organize my blog and come up with content. I also use it to publicize my own posts.


This is a website I found through Pinterest. You simply share your link and people "stumble upon" it. Pretty clever. Only a small amount of my traffic comes from this site though.


I use Hootsuite when I'm having a busy week; between projects, tests, and excessive homework assignemnts. Being able to plan my social media posts is super helpful.

Google Docs

I use Google Docs to manage my editorial calendar. I like to rotate between beauty, fashion, and lifestyle posts. Though, come March, things are going to change a little.

Google Adsense

I love using Google Adsense. It helps me keep track of which posts are most "valuable."

Steno book

As of this January, I started using a medium sized note pad. It's made me so much more organized! My favorite characteristic about this notebook is it's size. It fits in the front pocket of my backpack perfectly. It also fits in my purse. I like to have it with me at all times in the event that I come up with a blog post idea.

Because there is a line down the center of the book, I use one side for blog post "stuff," whether it be ideas or outlines. As for the other side, I use it to write mini to do lists. My to do lists include promoting a blog post or emailing a company.


I wouldn't survive without my iMac. It's incredible! It's efficient and fast.

That concludes my favorite blogging tools. You might have noticed that I didn't include a camera. As of now, I use my iPhone 6. It does an O.K. job. I'm looking into purchasing a high quality camera such as the Cannon T5 or Cannon T6. I would really appreciate it if y'all commented below telling me which cameras you use.

January Favorites 2017

Welcome back to my blog, everyone!

I've been using this skincare line since mid-December. I love each and every one of the products in the sampler I purchased. I use the exfoliant once a week, where I definitely see a difference in my skin. Read my review HERE.

I talked about this product earlier this month. I've always been drawn to Tarte Cosmetics. This blush is one of my favorites because not only is the color gorgeous, but the product itself is incredible. It's lightweight, pigmented, and natural-looking.

S'well Water Bottle

S'well water bottles are so, so cute! Plus, they keep your drink cold for up to 24 hours and hot up to 12. I have yet to try the hot function, but I can say that the cold function definitely works. I love it!

One Tree Hill

This past month, I've been Netflix and Chillin' by my lonesome each and every chance I got. As of lately, I've been watching One Tree Hill. I am currently in the middle of season 3. It's so good! If you haven't watched it already-- you have to. Feel free to thank me later. One word: drama.

My Favorite Accessories Straight From My Closet

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Today I'm talking about some of my all time favorite accessories. Some of them are adjusted to the winter season, while others I wear all year around.

Heart Halo Stud Earrings

These are my favorite earrings- ever. My boyfriend gave them to me as a present for my 18th birthday. I adore these silver studs because they go with everything. I wear them with a baseball cap and jeans or a turtleneck and booties. Either style goes great with these beauties! 

Alex and Ani Cross Adjustable Bracelet 

This is one of my favorite accessories I own from Alex and Ani. I think it is so classic. It's simple, and therefore goes with everything. (Btw; I think it's good luck. I wore it when I went to a college interview, where I was accepted on the spot.)

Alex And Ani Stellar Love Edesia Moon Charm Bangle

If you've been around for awhile, you know that I have an obsession with Alex and Ani bangles. I pretty much wear the same four everyday; one of them being, the stellar love charm. It's beautiful.

Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch

My godfather bought me a Michael Kors watch. I love, love, love it, but I only wear it for "fancy" occasions. It's too gorgeous to be worn for anything less.

Apt. 9 Plaid Reversible Oblong Blanket Scarf

I love blanket scarves. I own several now... Anyway, this one is at the top of my list for several reasons. For one, it goes with everything. Two, the black and white pattern is gorgeous. It reminds me of something you would see on the runway. As for the green/blue plaid side, I recently purchased a pair of a snow boots with the pattern on them. So, so cute!

This past weekend, I purchased a brand new winter coat. (My old one was falling apart- no joke.) With that being said, I needed some new winter accessories to go with it. I purchased a matching infinity scarf and beanie. So cute!

Women's Echo 'Touch - Zip Boucle' Tech Gloves

I love tech gloves. I don't own this pair exactly, but I think they're super cute! I think I bought mine from Walmart. They're still in great condition. 

Lace Crochet Long Boot Socks

Boot socks are one of my personal favorite ways to accessorize. I own two pair of tall brown boots and a pair of black booties. Messing around with different socks drastically changes my outfit.

My Desk Wishlist

Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm sharing my desk wishlist with you all. Though it is only January, my college career is right around the corner! I am so eager to dive into my classes!

Over the summer, I discovered Kate Spade's office collection. I instantly fell in love. This stapler caught my eye because it says, "Keep it together." So punny!

The tape dispenser on the other hand says, "Make it stick." I think these two office accessories are just adorable.

Kate Spade New York Sticky Note Set

I am constantly searching my house for sticky notes. I use them when I read, when I plan blog posts, etc. This little set would be great to keep in my car as a college commuter.

Lilly Pulitzer Multi Assorted Pen Set

How can you say no to Lilly Pulitzer pens? These pens are so bright and colorful. (They'll match my planner, too! Super duper cute!)

Kikkerland Potted Pen Stand 

This is definitely not for my car. I'd like to keep some sort of plant in my room. Just to add some life, you know? Plus, there are some health benefits. If you don't believe me, read about it here.

Paperchase Rose Gold Binder Clips

Mom, if you're reading this, I stole the last binder clip. I just love organizing my AP Stat notes by chapter. Please don't be mad.

I find that I use binder clips all the time to organize my notes (despite the class) by chapter. I did this all the time over the summer when I took some classes at my community college. Not going to lie, my public speaking notes were pretty fly.

With that being said, I like to store my notes; and I don't like to lug them around. File folders will help me keep old material neat and tidy for when I need to reference it in the future.

Robiear Floral File Folder Organizer

Again, this organizer will help me stay organized. It will be helpful when it comes time for me to reference material from previous semesters.

Hadley Desk Organizer

This organizer would be super helpful to store: index cards, push pins for my bulletin board, binder clips, etc. 

Domino Appointed 2017 Calendar

I'd like to have a monthly calendar on display. It makes it so much easier to visualize when assignments, deadlines, etc. are due. I also think this one is really cute! (That's just a slight perk!)

I'm always on the hunt for thank you cards. Just the other day, my mom's friend gave me a bracelet for getting accepted into a college's Honors Program. I had to steal one from my mom. 

Evening Floral To-Do List Notepad

And lastly, I live off of list making. (I am constantly printing them off from Pinterest.) Having this note pad on my desk would allow me to keep track of high priorities, such as a psychology exam or a blog post.

New Beauties To My Collection

Welcome back to my blog!

In today's blog post I am talking about the makeup products I recently purchased or was given to as a present. I am really happy with all of these products for the most part and am glad to be sharing them with y'all:

High Impact Mascara from Clinique

For Christmas, I received a bag full of amazing samples from Ulta. One of them being this mascara from Clinique. I really like it for days when I'm not feeling a "full on makeup look." I apply a thin coat to my lashes followed by powder and blush. I'm good to go!

Tarte To Go: Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara

The mascara lengthens, curls, volumizes and conditions. According to Tarte's website the "mascara [is] infused with olive esters to condition, treat, and protect lashes." It's perfect for on-the-go application. I love everything about this mascara.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush Naughty Nudes 

First of all, I love the sleek packaging. It looks very professional. I also love the design of the blush itself. The grooves are gorgeous. As for the actual product, I love it! I guarantee you: it will agree with any and every skin tone. 

Tarte Drench Lip Splash Lipstick

I've used this lipstick twice now- and each time I've received a ton of compliments. I have the lipstick in the shade Living. (I'm just dying to get my hands on the shade Skinny Dip! It's a gorge white/nude color.) I start off by applying the product to the center of my lips. Then I smudge it out to the corners of my mouth. It makes my lips appear fuller.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

According to Urban Decay's website, the mascara is "So intense you might need a safe word, Perversion glides on and gets you sexy in one stroke. Yet it won’t quit until you say when." I love this mascara. I have a mini size to keep in my purse for emergencies and touchups. (You never know!)

Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Setting Spray

Urban Decay is known for their setting sprays; they're incredible! If you don't believe me, read the following:

In a 7-day study of All Nighter:

• 78% of participants said All Nighter helped their makeup last for 16 hours.
• Over 80% said their makeup not only looked better, it stayed on better (even in the T-zone) without settling into fine lines.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss

Anastasia Beverly Hills lip glosses produce an opaque, high-shine lip color. I have the shade Fudge. It is a little bold for the day time, but I think it would be great for a night out with my girls.

My Blogging Process

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Today's post is dedicated to all of my fellow bloggers. I wanted to share with y'all what a day of blogging looks like. I went through each step and described it for you; from sitting down into my office chair to powering down my laptop.

Crank the tunes.

I'll be honest; I can't function without music. I start off by logging into my Spotify account. As of lately, I've been listening to Charli XCX.

Make a to do list.

I live by lists. It usually looks something like that:

  • Outline/Draft: January 9, 2017
  • Outline/Draft: January 12, 2017
  • Edit
  • Take photos
  • Edit photos
  • Schedule social media
  • Update: About Me page

Check social media.

I'm not very good at posting on my social media. I post on Twitter and Snapchat fairly often, but rarely ever Instagram. I'm going to try to post on there a little bit more this year. Make sure to stay tuned for some live videos.

Draft blog posts.

I just go to town. Forget the spelling errors and the comma splices! Just go to town! That's what editing is for.

Edit blog posts.

I like to go through blog posts 2-3 times. Unfortunately, I still miss errors all the time! I'm sure there's at least 3 errors in this blog post. Life happens and that's okay.

Take pictures.

Taking pictures is my least favorite part of the process. Maybe that's because I'm not as creative as I would like to be. I usually set up an off white blanket in front of a window and begin creating some sort of flat lay mess. Sometimes it looks cute... other times not so much. Bear with me.

Edit pictures.

Again, editing pictures is something I find pretty difficult. I can never make them look as white as I'd like to, or as sharp. If you have any tips, please leave them in the comments below.

Upload pictures.

Add extras!

Extras include links, sources, etc.

Schedule blog post.


I repeat this process until I'm done for the day. I can usually carve out 2-3 blog posts when I do this process. I dedicate a whole snow day or Sunday to this. It helps me stay on top of my blogging game.

That just about wraps up this blog post. I do take my blog very seriously. I like to treat it as an actual job-- that I love. Comment below telling me how you go about your own blogging process.

My Skincare Rituals

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! To kick off the new year, I am sharing my skincare rituals with you all. In my earlier stages of puberty, I suffered with acne; I still suffer with minor breakouts every now and then. I broke down the products I use into three different categories: morning daily, night daily, and weekly.

After getting out of a hot shower, I like to apply Tea Tree Water from Lush Cosmetics. According to  LUSH's website, "Cleansing tea tree, juniper berry and grapefruit waters get complexions looking luminous and fresh while also keeping excess oils in check." I've found that it is easiest to apply by directly spraying it onto the skin and removing the excess product with a cotton pad. It leaves my skin feeling clean and refreshed.

Afterwards, I like to spot treat my acne with Epiduo Gel. After just a few weeks of using the product, my acne is down to a bare minimum.

I finish my morning skincare routine by applying Eucerin Daily Protection SPF 30 Moisturizing Face Lotion.

I'll be the first to admit: I love playing with makeup. But even more so, I love taking my makeup off; it's the first thing I do when I come home from school. I use Neutrogena's Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes to get the job done. According to their website, they are "clinically proven to remove 99.3% of your most stubborn makeup, even waterproof mascara." I have to agree with this statement. It works wonders.

I then follow up with my tea tree water once again. Then, I apply Epiduo Gel directly to the zit. (It's pretty much gone two-three days later!)

I am a total girly girl-- I love jamming to Taylor Swift, while wearing a bright green face mask and painting my nails. It's just the kind of girl I am. With that being said, I like to treat myself on the weekends, specifically Sundays. 

A few months ago, Tarte Cosmetics released their Rainforest of The Sea skincare line. The products  are incredible. I actually did a review on them last month; read it here

I also swear by Deep Cleaning Pore Strips from Biore Skincare. I love applying these to my nose area. I find that they take a lot of "gunk" off, leaving my nose free of blackheads. (P.S. These nose strips are an award winning product! Oooooh!)

Blogging For The Better

After a long day, I found myself settling into a cushioned office chair with a cup of tea in hand. All I yearned for at that point in the day was the music my keyboard would make as I strung words together.

The click of the keys relaxed me as I logged onto my own corner of the internet, a place I call home. Guilianna Marie is a blog I created in the eighth grade in order to express my opinions on the beauty and fashion industries.

I opened a blank document with ease and began typing diligently. This time, though, I was not composing on Louis Vuitton’s latest fashion show hypes or a review on Maybelline New York’s Great Lash mascara. I was posting on a truly personal experience, something completely out of my element.

I was feeling bold, confident, and courageous as my fingers traced the silky white keys of my keyboard. Without hesitation, I titled the blog post “Respect Yourself”.
I began by typing, “If I flashback to a few months ago…”
This was the story of the first time I came in contact with the dreaded peer pressure my parents and teachers had been warning me about for years. It was a cold, dark Friday in January when my date and I walked through a burgundy door. We walked into alcohol, dimmed lights, the smell of smoke, and a too loud Blink 182 song.
Within the first hour, couples raced to rooms. My date took my hand and led me down a hall gallantly. I was so caught up in all of the attention I was receiving from the varsity soccer star that I was oblivious to my surroundings. Once his fingers grazed the silver doorknob of a clean wooden bedroom door, reality set in -- and I realized it wasn’t worth it.
I froze. My flushed cheeks spoke for me. I was left by myself for the rest of the evening. When 11:30 rolled around, I stumbled down icy steps and slid into my date’s green minivan. Once we pulled into my driveway, he walked me up to my porch.
He stared at his blue worn-in Adidas sneakers and said, “This isn’t working out.” After a moment of silence, I said nothing more than, “Okay.” He strode out into the night with his hands in the pockets of his brand new American Eagle khakis. From that moment on, I knew I would no longer be apart of the “in crowd”. At least I still had my pride.
And, that’s where the story ends.
Trembling fingers hovered the mouse as I disputed with myself to press publish. The constant fear that crept my mind was, “What if people from my school, or people from that party, or if the varsity soccer star himself reads this post?” The thought of him reading it made my heart stop.
I let a few days go by before I opened the blog post again. On January 10, 2015, I decided to reach out to all of the girls who have ever been in my position. A new fear crept my mind: “What if someone who needs to read this can’t?” I wanted girls to know they weren’t alone.
As my heart was beating out of my chest, my fingers hovered the mouse. I glided the mouse over the publish button and clicked it.
Within minutes, I received the best feedback I’ve ever received. Women all over the world thanked me. Others called me brave, while others said I inspired them.
My blog is a place I call home because my audience is my second family. My readers opened my eyes to several opportunities, such as building relationships with brands and encouraging others to be themselves. Helping others through my blog has changed me. My blog taught me how to use my voice to make a difference. Now, I intend on helping others through my blog and future career in psychology for many years to come.
