Freshman Year: Fall Semester Goals

School is back in session! I thought I would kick off the school year with a post on my goals for the semester. 

Maintain a steady bedtime.

Since I can remember, I had a steady bedtime. Even up until my senior year I’ve been in bed no later than 9:30 P.M. In college, this is going to be especially important. I hope to maintain a reasonable bedtime like 9:30-10:00 P.M.

Find a study spot.

In high school, my study spot was always changing. It may have been in the cafe, a classroom, or the library. I would also study in my home office or room. I’m hoping to find a designated spot in college I can call home.

Workout three times a week. 

I’m going to be honest: my biggest fear in college is the freshman fifteen. I’m hoping to workout more than three times a week, but I want to feel my way around before I make that commitment.

Balance my blog and school work. 

My blog is my baby. I want to continue to post 2-3 times a week on my blog, while still keeping up on my assignments and chores.

Remember, self-care.

I’m hoping to spend at least 20 minutes a day focusing on myself, whether it be reading my Bible or writing in my journal. Or, maybe it’s calling my folks back home.

Finish assignments at least 24 hours in advance. 

I’ve never been one to procrastinate. Even when senioritis hit, I still pulled through with my assignments. I’m hoping to stay on track and give myself some time to review those assignments.

Get A’s in all of my classes.

I’ve actually taken 30 credits worth of college classes already. I did this through dual enrollment classes at my high school and taking classes at my community college during the summer. If possible, take those dual enrollment classes. They’re way cheaper! I have received nothing lower than a B and that was in Spanish 201 and 202. I intend on keeping these grades.

  1. Some great goals, and realistic ones too! I'm exactly the same with the bed time thing, I feel super drained the next day if my routine becomes broken! Good luck going back :-)

    1. I definitely try to keep my goals within reach. Tip for going to bed at a reasonable hour: set an alarm. Set an alarm 15 minutes before you wan to go to bed. I find that helps a lot! Best of luck this school year! x

  2. One thing I'm really going to focus on this semester that I totally forgot last year was to feed my passions. I was so caught up in work that I started to feel somewhat depressed, and I started to suffocate. So that's really my goal this semester, not forget who I am outside of school! :)

    1. Yes! Yes! And yes! I like to block out 20-30 minutes each night to focus on myself. I like to spend this time doing a face mask or watching Netflix. Whatever floats your boat! Thanks for reading & commenting, Lucie! x
