18 Things That Happened in 2018

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Finals are finally over-- and I'm finally able to submerge myself back into the blogging world. I wanted to kick off the end of the year with a blog post on 18 things that happened in 2018. Usually, I talk about my accomplishments, but the truth is: there are ups and downs.

Here are 18 things that happened in 2018:

1. I toured some colleges in Florida with my family.

My sister is planning to further her education at Florida Southern College, where she wants to study business and political science. And, I already miss her like crazy.

2. Not only did I experience a concert in the pit, but I experienced Taylor Swift's Reputation tour from that view.

It was one of the most incredible nights of my life. As Taylor would say, it was gorgeous.

3. I also saw Charlie Puth perform.

One word: shirtless. If you ever get the chance to see him in concert, do it! He sounds amazing!

4. I had my first real breakup.

As much as I don't want to discuss this on a public platform, I would like to add it to my list. It happened. And, more importantly, it helped shape who I am today. I am constantly reminded that things happen for a reason.

5. I took my first ever college level science class and got an A.

This one in itself deserves an applause.

6. I made the Dean's List. And the President's List.

Hard work pays off! This past semester I got a 4.0, taking the maximum amount of credits. I've never worked so hard in my life.

7. I found my passion.

I love working with immigrants. I want to be a psychologist for immigrants and help them overcome trauma. I want to help them find themselves. I want to help them self-actualize. I am so passionate about this topic that I am planning on conducting research about immigrants and self-actualization during my senior year at Cabrini University.

8. I hit 120,000 views on my blog.

I know, I know.. my blog has definitely been slacking. But, thanks to y'all, I reached 120,000 views. Thank you so much for your support. (Stay tuned for giveaways in 2019!)

9. I went to Washington, D.C. to advocate for immigration reform.

If there is anything I learned this semester it's to advocate. Advocate for what you believe in.

10. I attended a protest to shut down Berks County Residential Center.

11. I was inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma.

Did I mention hard work pays off? Always, always, always go the extra mile.

12. I began teaching English as a second language (ESL).

And absolutely love it! I think I would like to pursue this as a career someday.

13. I toured a few small towns in South Carolina.

And, I tasted the most amazing bread-- covered in cheese and butter and Heaven.

14. I adopted a workout schedule and kept with it.

This was definitely on the harder side, but I did it! I found a kick butt workout that really activates your legs and core. I've never loved my body shape so much. #WhatsWrongWithBeingConfident

15. I completed my first year of college, and second, and third.

I have never been so proud of a decision I've made. Cabrini University has given me so many opportunities that I wouldn't have been able to receive anywhere else.

16. I supported my mom at her graduation.

My mom received a certificate for leadership. She continues to be an inspiration to me everyday.

17. My family went to New York and saw Niagara Falls.

Just a mini family vacay, but I enjoyed it. It was nice to get away for a little while.

18. My grandma conquered her cancer treatments.

Above all, my grandma was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of ovarian cancer and she received treatment for it for the past couple of months. To say the least: she rocked it. I couldn't imagine being in her shoes. But, by what I've seen, I can tell you it's extremely difficult. Her will to keep fighting was definitely an inspiration to not only my family, but other members who attended the cancer center. If the world had half as much optimism as she does, this world would be a beautiful place.

My 2018 Christmas Wishlist

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

I know it's been quite some time since I posted a blog post. Don't worry; I'm working towards solidifying a set schedule. In this blog post, I'm going to be sharing My 2018 Christmas Wishlist with y'all. The things on my list are definitely a lot more practical than they have been in past years. This year, I'm asking for makeup, skincare, and comfy clothes.

If you know me, you know I love Kate Spade New York designs. I think her designs are so classy and elegant. I've been eyeing up this lunch bag since the summer. Since I'm going to be commuting to college next year, I wanted to invest in a quality lunch bag.

Before I went to college, I purchased a cheap rain coat from Kohl's. Don't get me wrong, I love it. However, it doesn't hold up too well when it's raining cats and dogs. I want to invest in a better quality rain jacket that will last me forever.

I have never loved a concealer as much as I love this one. Not to mention, I'm definitely in need of a new one. I think this will be my third, maybe fourth bottle? #GoBuyIt

Because of how satisfied I was with the concealer, I wanted to put Makeup Revolution's blushers to the test. These colors are absolutely gorgeous-- aren't they?

Again, putting Makeup Revolution to the test: I wanted to see if this is comparable to Urban Decay's All-Nighter Setting Spray-- for $8 this would be a steal.

Not only am I in desperate need of a new foundation, but I've heard such great reviews about this one. If any of you guys have tried this foundation, let me know what you think!

I've been using this cleanser for ages and love it! It has helped even out my complexion without over drying it.

I found these brightening pads while browsing Ulta Beauty online. I think they would be so much fun to try out before a big event, like a dance or graduation.

I've had my eyes on these for the past couple of months. I am all about going to class in a comfy, yet cute outfit. These sweatpants will get me through-- plus, who doesn't love school spirit? #GoCavs

To be honest, I'm not much of an eyeshadow guru. However, I think these shades are natural enough for me to pull off. I also think they're absolutely gorgeous!

After a long week, this is my go to solution for banishing breakouts. It draws out all of the gunk from your pores. My pores not only tighten, but my skin looks super glowy.

Who doesn't love mascara? Rumor has it: this mascara is supposed to be a dupe for the Better Than Sex mascara. And, I, like all other makeup addicts, love this mascara.

I have two hats: a Cabrini University one and a monogrammed one. I would love to add to my collection.

The perfect addition to any self-care evening. I think these would be so fun to try out!
