Life Hacks To Slay The Spring Semester + Giveaway

The spring semester is in full swing and I am ready to conquer it like no other. And, I want you to be able to slay it in the same fashion. Therefore, I'm sharing some of my favorite life hacks to help you thrive this semester.

Let's get started:

Make a schedule-- and stick to it.

I love a consistent schedule that is easy to follow. I made this one over winter break. I included when I plan to:

  • Eat
  • Go to class
  • Workout
  • Study
  • Volunteer
  • Wake-up/go to bed
  • Laundry

I definitely recommend making a schedule like this one that you can put on or above your desk. Having it easily accessible will encourage you to follow it.

Use a planner.

I am a huge fan of Lilly Pulitzer planners, as they are bright and colorful. However, they also have a lot of space for you to write down all of your assignments and to-dos. If you're a planner addict like myself, you can also purchase a pack of stickers. I love using stickers for birthdays, big assignments, events, etc.

Get your textbooks!

I recommend purchasing your books from the Barnes & Noble Marketplace. I found 6 of my textbooks for $1.99. (Not sponsored, but I wish it was!)

Clean out your backpack.

Right away, start off the semester with a clean backpack. I cleaned out mine a couple of weeks ago and it was gross! Think: snack wrappers beyond snack wrappers. Ew. I also threw my backpack in the wash to ensure the ultimate level of cleanliness. Don't forget to pack it with your supplies and a girl survival kit!

Be a minimalist with your school supplies.

I take 6 classes; having 6 notebooks and 6 folders is extremely unnecessary, I use 3 folders and a 5-subject notebook. I label my 3 folders:
  • Important (Syllabi, mission statements, etc.)
  • To Do (Assignments in progress)
  • Turn In (Completed assignments)
I've found that this system works great! I then use a 5 subject notebook because one of my classes isn't a heavy note taking class. I'm also thinking about cutting this semester down to a  3 subject notebook, but we'll see!

Make flashcards + put them on your night stand.

I actually shared this life hack with my social psychology class last semester. Everyone was super impressed! When you're done making flashcards, put them by your bed. You are more likely to go through them before bed if they're within reach. #ChannelFactors

Constantly remind yourself of what you're going to school for (and how much money you and/or your parents' are paying for it). Last semester, I felt like I was spreading myself too thin. I wasn't. I was having trouble focusing. My friends were always partying and having fun. I felt out of place not being able to join them. It doesn't matter what other people are doing. It matters what YOU are doing.

  1. I love these tips, especially the being a minimalist with your school supplies because I used to carry a notebook for every subject but now I just get the five subject notebooks.
